Design of a Web-Based Information System for Improving Learning Quality

Abstract

Conventional learning often presents various problems, such as limitations in material delivery, assignment distribution, and a lack of flexibility for students in accessing learning resources. Developments in information technology provide opportunities to address these issues through the integration of online digital platforms into educational activities. This research focuses on developing a web-based instructional information system capable of boosting academic quality and supporting a more effective and efficient teaching and learning process. The method used in this research is the Waterfall system development method, which includes the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. In the design stage, the system was developed by providing user login features, learning material management, assignment management, material search, and online assignment submission. The results of the study indicate that the design of a web-based learning information system can be a solution to overcome the limitations of conventional learning by providing easy access to materials and assignments anytime and anywhere. In addition, this system is expected to increase the effectiveness of the learning process, facilitate interaction between teachers and students, and support the digitalization of teaching and learning activities in the school environment.
