Author Guidelines

Welcome to the manuscript submission system of the Journal of Technology and Data Science (JTDS). This page provides comprehensive guidelines for authors — covering manuscript preparation, plagiarism policy, the submission workflow, and copyright terms.

Submission Process

Submission Workflow

The JTDS review process consists of five sequential stages. Estimated total time from submission to final decision is 6–10 weeks.

Manuscript Preparation

Prepare your manuscript following the JTDS template and author guidelines. Run a plagiarism check and prepare all supporting documents.

Online Submission

Log in and upload your manuscript, attachments, and plagiarism report through the OJS system on this page.

Editorial Screening

Editors evaluate scope alignment, format completeness, and manuscript integrity (±1 week).

Double-Blind Review

At least 2 expert reviewers provide anonymous assessment and recommendations (4–6 weeks).

Decision & Publication

Accepted / revision / rejected. Accepted manuscripts are published online with a permanent DOI.

Copyright & License

JTDS adopts a full open access policy under a Creative Commons license. Authors retain copyright over their work.

Copyright Retention

Authors retain full copyright over their manuscripts. JTDS does not claim ownership of published content.

CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 License

Articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license — free to copy and redistribute for non-commercial purposes; derivative works must be shared under the same license.

Attribution Requirement

Any reuse must credit the author name, article title, journal name (JTDS), volume/issue, and the permanent DOI link.

Fee Information

Submission & Processing Fees

JTDS is committed to remaining affordable for researchers. Nearly all submissions are free of charge — only excess page length incurs a nominal fee.

Submission & APC — Free

JTDS charges no fees for manuscript submission (submission charge) or article processing (article processing charge / APC).

Excess Page Fee

Manuscripts exceeding 15 pages incur IDR 100,000 per excess page. The editor will confirm the fee after acceptance and before publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration at any other journal.
  • The manuscript follows the JTDS template, submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) or OpenOffice (.odt) format.
  • A plagiarism check using Turnitin or iThenticate shows a similarity index of no more than 20% (excluding the Reference List), and the report is attached at submission.
  • All references include a DOI or URL where available, formatted in the IEEE citation style.
  • Author identities (name, affiliation, email) are omitted from the main manuscript to preserve the double-blind review process.
  • The manuscript follows the structure: Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results & Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
  • The manuscript is at least 8 A4 pages; manuscripts exceeding 15 pages incur an additional fee of IDR 100,000 per excess page.
  • The discussion is comprehensive, with adequate depth of analysis, supported by relevant and up-to-date references.
  • A statement of originality and publication consent has been signed by all authors.
