Abstract

Digital transformation has become essential for MSMEs aiming to remain competitive in the post-pandemic market. CV Usaha Musi Palembang an MSME selling furniture and household goods still relied on Microsoft Excel for record-keeping and offline channels for transactions during the study period, limiting market reach and providing no real-time reporting. This study aims to design and implement a web-based ordering information system using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method across four phases Requirements Planning, User Design, Construction, and Cutover with three 1.5-week timeboxes. The system is built using PHP 8.1, Laravel 10, and MySQL 8 with a four-table relational database model. Black-Box testing on 33 test cases produced 100% functional conformity, and User Acceptance Testing involving 18 respondents reached a 91% acceptance level (Very Suitable category). RAD implementation enabled go-live within five weeks more than 50% faster than the Waterfall estimate for comparable projects. The main contributions of this study are mapping the requirements of MSME furniture e-commerce, providing a scalable database model, and empirically validating the effectiveness of RAD for resource-constrained MSMEs.
